The Grotto in Portland, formally known as The National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother, is a Catholic shrine and botanical garden. Located just off NE Sandy Blvd, it's easily accessible and offers a quick getaway for meditation or just walking in a peaceful setting when you're having a stressful day. The lower level includes a walking path (about 20 minutes of casual strolling) called Stations of the Cross, which is where this picture was taken. There is also a welcome center, gift shop and the Grotto itself which is a cave carved in to the base of a massive stone wall. (taken with Canon PowerShot SX150)
