Columbia River ferry crossing at Cathlamet

After you leave Longview, Wa and head west on highway 4 toward the coast there is no bridge to cross over into Oregon until you get to the Astoria bridge. There is, however a small 4-vehicle ferry you can take from Cathlamet, WA that crosses over into Oregon and drops you near Westport. I got there too late and watched as it pulled away from the pier but as ferries go it was a bit small for me and I was happy not to have to decide after all. It was late in the day, getting dark and the ferry was too far away to get a good picture, so instead I settled for this shot of the Columbia river, looking west from the parking area.
